Got LIGHT?
I was honored to serve as our ward Camp Director this year.
{And so blessed that Scott took the whole week off of work to be Mr. Mom!}
Our Stake theme was GOT LIGHT?
Love. Intelligence. Glory. Happiness. Truth.
I made these journals for DEAR TIME...with many quotes that the girls received in their mailboxes several times a day...
And I made each girl a bag too...with my scrap fabric on the inside. She could use as a day pack, keep quotes and journal, scriptures, glue stick, pen etc.
Each girl also got matching PJS...wrapped with a ribbon with the bag, journal and pjs on top...with a reminder: PJS Prayer Journal Scriptures...We hope when you wear your PJS..you will remember to take time for Prayer, Journal and Scriptures! {I did not make the jammies;}

Treasure Mountain Girls Camp is so great. I really loved it.
Beautiful! So beautiful. And so many great activities...Archery. BBGuns. Tomahawks(throwing axes). COPE: Challenging Outdoor Personal Experiences.
And of course, the spirit that always attends Girls Camp!
The first morning Polar Bear Swim! Two of our girls did the Polar Bear every day! Yep! Swimming across the lake at 6:30 AM! To make it easier, the girls slept in their swimsuits under their pajamas.
I was pretty proud of them! I had Hot Chocolate waiting for them at camp the first day...not knowing the stake provided Hot Chocolate at the pond too...signs of a first year Camp Director! So many little things:)

COPE is awesome! We are so lucky some guys went to BSA training and volunteer their time every year so that these girls get to do these great challenges! Here I am on my first time up the Giants Ladder. I was the base for my partner and then I monkey'd up after her. She helped my foot up the last rung that was 6 feet apart!

Next, I went up with another girl who had been up before...we both shimmied up each side on our own until the last space, then we helped each other.

My friend Liz at the almost top of the Confidence pole in COPE. This was crazy! It is so wiggly.
And if we only had something to hold onto...it would have been simple to hold onto the rope...and stand up on the top, but they wouldn't let us hold onto the rope! And its probably 20-25 feet up..
This is what is so hard! Getting that second foot up...my muscles were spazaming...and the pole was shaking. AND our friend did it and grabbed the ring when she jumped from the top! WAY TO GO Kari! I still can't believe you did it...and I'm honestly jealous!

The next day Liz and I returned to the Giants Ladder together. I had lots of bruises on my legs ...after doing this three times! The biggest bruise was when on the second time of climbing this the first day...the ladder wasn't pulled out far enough and the belayer tried to scare me by letting me down fast...but my shin hit one of the ladder rungs HARD...I didn't want anyone to know how badly it hurt so they wouldn't feel bad...but woah. Ouch. I still have a bump three weeks later.
We had so many awesome experiences! I loved DEAR Time (Drop Everything and Read)...sitting amongst the trees...listening to birds and reading the scriptures and other inspirational things...precious!
I loved our camp fires...devotionals...books read by my friend Liz at bedtime...testimony meeting.
I loved getting to know these sweet girls! They are beautiful and good and fun!
We got the early bird award twice. Clean camp award once. Jingle award once. We all bonded together and had a wonderful spirit with us! I love Girls Camp! And I love Young Women!
