Gnarley bug and crisp fall air

So while we were in the yard yesterday, Ryan called to me saying there was a bug over there. I told him to go around it as I was weeding and didn't want to get up. But he kept telling me to check out the bug, so I did. Holy cow. That was a gnarley bug! I'm thinking Scott's dad would say it is a Jerusalem cricket. Knowing Ryan, I'm surprised he wasn't getting nervous seeing such a large insect...but it wasn't crawling as it had already died. He says he stepped on it, but it wasn't crushed...only a broken leg.


Last week we had preschool at our house and it was fun. We made

turkeys with painted handprints and the kids glued the rest of the turkey into place. They were really cute. The kids didn't want to take a picture at that moment, they wanted to play.

We also did the letter K that turned out really cute with

shinny gold and silver cut outs of keys. We've done all the letters

similarly...with stuff on them. The J has cut up jeans on it! That

was fun. F has feathers...B has beans and buttons.

Those have been our favorites so far.

Sean was too cute this day in his overalls and making tall towers.

Our favorite place we've lived until now was in South Jordan. It was because we had an awesome view out the back. There was a nature preserve and a horse pasture. We regularly had about 8 horses coming and going from our back windows. It was awesome, especially when it was snowing and we woke up and saw all the horses laying down in the falling snow. So pretty!

Anyhow, this is the view we have now out our bedroom window. It's pretty great too, but it is under construction. The crews haven't been working much lately, so flocks of geese have made it their rest stop. So once again, we enjoy our serene look outs!

Can't wait for Thanksgiving and then Christmas!
