Summer Fun and stroll with me

We are too lucky and have been having too much fun! My fridge is almost bare as we haven't had time to restock it in forever! Good for our level of summer fun...bad for our menus! We have had so much fun though and it isn't over!

We have had pool parties nearly everyday! On Saturday, Ryan was so excited when getting out of the pool near 8:30 pm and announced that he got to have "2 swims today!" It's so fun to watch the boys play in the pool. Ryan did great swimming with dad and Scott and Mike (bro in law) had a splash contest. Scott's splash height is impressive! Mike excelled in the volume of water splashed.

There are all grandsons in the Motley clan, 6 to be exact. Someday we hope to add a girl in the mix, but our boys are so much fun! We love it! Yesterday we dressed all the boys in coordinating outfits and had a cousin picture taken. It will be so cute! They were so good...and anxious to be done. As soon as the last picture was snapped they bolted out of the room towards the machine rides just outside The Picture People in the mall. All 5 that can walk...one is only 8 months old. But the look on the lady's face who was there having her sweet girl dressed in a ballerina tutu...as she saw the storm of boys racing out...it was hilarious! Cracked me up!

Stroll with me...down memory lane.....
At the end of last week, Scott parents planned an inpromptu road trip to Yosemite! Scott and I haven't been since we were dating! My mom accompanied us on our first trip to Scott's favorite place on earth and my favorite place on earth, Yosemite and Laguna beach respectively. We hiked to the top of Half Dome that summer! We did it in two days as we camped on the mountain and finished the last bit and descend on day two. I am still so proud of my mom that she did it! It is really HARD! 8.2 miles up and 8.2 miles down! Most people go up and down in the same day. I think that's pretty CRAZY! Glad we did it in two...but someday, I hope to do it again...though with little kiddies, it may not be anytime soon. More to come on our recent trip to Yosemite and to the top of Vernal falls.

Here are the memory lane pictures from 9 years ago...

PS - I'm thankful for DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY!!! Wow! Our pictures didn't turn out good at all last time...but we didn't know it because we couldn't see them after we took them! Pictures are way more fun these days!

Look at you young pups! How fun. One of my ENG 115 students wrote and essay about hiking Half Dome and it made me want to try it. Some day we'll have to come out for a visit and you can give us the tour:)
