We spent such a lovely afternoon in Washington D.C!
We took out the Paddle boats on the Tidal Basin.
Gorgeous day!

Then we walked to the World War II Memorial for the bathroom and enjoyed the sights along the way...
except Kyle was losing his capacities. This picture cracks me up!
It was hot...so we poured water on heads! Ahhh:)
Then the kids went with Grandma and Grandpa and Scott and I got to go on a date!
We ate dinner at the rooftop terrace P.O.V. Such gorgeous views! It was so nice to have a date together after we'd been apart so long! Girls Camp for a week.. preceded by two weeks of Girls Camp prep..nights especially...then a few days of sleeping and packing...then I went to VA...so it had been at least a month since we felt like we'd hung out together!
Our table looked right at the White House.
This is without zoom...really how it looked from my seat.
In the distance ...Lincoln shines as the lights come on!
D.C. at night is just gorgeous! The monuments glow and I love it!
After our dinner...White House behind us.
Then we explored Georgetown and found the original Georgetown cupcake location..and current project workplace. We love to watch D.C. Cupcakes so this was really fun!
Then Scott, Grandpa and the boys went to the Nationals Game! The Nats are new to D.C...since I lived there so we've never been! The boys had a great time! Ian Desmond signed Ryan's mitt and Sean's ball. Ryan got a special Nats Bryce Harper Ball and Sean got a nice Nats Pin. Then Ryan got a T-shirt thrown to him from the big cartoon Abe Lincoln...and a pitcher tossed Sean a real MLB baseball at the end of the game! Such fun perks...especially since the Nats lost 8-0!!! And they are leading their division this year...Bryce Harper...a rookie who made the All-star team had a terrible game..errors and no hits. So it was a bummer they had a rough game...but these guys still had a great time!

Before the game BOTH boys got the memorabilia from the Nat's store. Then they went down and got autographs. THEN, later, Ryan got a shirt from the over-size cartoon Lincoln. Hence, Sean was one (item) down, if you will. He did not let on at all that he was upside down on the in-game spiffs. He was good. Ryan caught the T-shirt through complimenting "Honest Abe" to his face. // At the END of the game, Sean went down to the edge of the field (we were only a handful or rows from the field). So, as a real pitcher for the Nats was walking by, he tossed a REAL MLB baseball right to Sean. // Aw. Even-Steven. // Instant-Karma (in this case)!
I keep wanting to go to the track or the turf and play with the boys! And I can't wait for Saturday when I get to play with Emma!!!!!!! Mike said she is 10 pounds now.
