Birthday Day!

Happy Birthday Ryan!

We celebrated Ryan's birthday a few days before knowing that in the evening on Ryan's real birthday we were flying to Virginia...so a party that day would have not worked out so well.

Despite finishing the packing (which plagues me for days before trips) we got donuts and went to Sean's friend's birthday party at this skate park on our way to the airport!  What a blast! The boys had so much fun ~ especially Ryan.  He really got into it!  He tried and tried and wanted to ride up the ramp all by himself and succeeded!  It was so fun to watch ~ except for the time when he fell back and his helmet saved his life ~ literally!

Things we love about this seven year old boy!
*   He's a thinker.  He can ask some very interesting questions. ~ "If the world wasn't spinning, would we be stiff like statues?"
*  He's independent.  I love watching him enjoy the benefits of getting older and having more priviledges/abilities ~ from starting his shower all on his own to pouring a drink by himself to playing outside, etc.
*  He's a super sweet son and loves to hug me!
*  A great big brother to both Sean and Kyle.  Loves to be around them.
*  He is so aware of what is right and wants to be good...i worry sometimes when his expectations of perfection fall short! I have to remind him we are all learning and trying to do better every day.
*  Watching him try to bike up these ramps was the coolest thing!  He worked so hard at it!  A cool thing to do for this big birthday!  Seven sounds so much older than six!

First he mastered riding on this ramp like a rainbow.  up and around.
Then he wanted to ride up to the landing on this ramp...After lots of tries he mastered it!
Don't forget those helmets!
And Sean got to ride up (with help) and DOWN!
And here he is with his friend William...                           Then we made it to the airplane to go to Virginia!

Happy Birthday Ryan!  LOVE YOU TONS!
